The food franchise McDonald recently promised to reduce the amount of calories in its popular “Happy Meal” it will do so, by reducing the amount of French Fries usually served with the meal.
The question consumer should begin to ask is if reducing the quantity of French Fries served with the “Happy Meal” means lowering the price consumer usually pay for such meal before the announcement.
While I support and hail the food chain’s effort to lower calories and serve better and healthier meals to consumers, any countdown on calories that does not include a reduction in price is nothing but another attempt to take advantage of consumers.
If the food chain wants to contribute to the current campaign to fight obesity and cut down on American calories, it should do so across all its services at reasonable prices, stop the yearly announcements on service changes that amount to nothing, and take action instead.
