INSTITUTING A DEBT CAP: The Spanish Model


The government of Spain recently announced the country is making an amendment to the constitution, to ensure a cap on how much debt the country is allowed to owe.

The move was probably in response to the debt ceiling war in the US Congress; it is ironic there are still nations with no debt cap or spending limit. Hopefully, the current example in the United States will serve as a wake up call to other nations.
